Hi all I've just installed a Sony 6disc to my focus and I'm really happy with it, when I picked it up I found that the screen has a few scratchs on the front some were quite bad so I took it home and bought some brasso and tryed to get them out, after an hour or so I'd got a lot out but there still noticeable and I know it will get on my nerves, can I get a replacement screen ? If so where from thanks colin. Or does anyone know how I can get the rest out any special polish out there.

Brasso is a strange choce mate,

ill give it a go on my sony stereo too, mine looks like rain drops on the screen but the dont wipe off of it their scuffed on to it,

looks great in the dark but when the sun shines on it from the side then you can see the scuffs, so i too would like to know if their is anything out their that could help remove the scratches.

Try a CD repair kit.

It has fluid and a cloth to polish scratches off.

Search eBay for CD repair, there are two types of cream- red and yellow for deep and fine scratches.

Ah good shout there stoney ,yeah I had a look on the net for something to polish scratches out of plastics and brasso was mentioned loads of times you only need a very small amount on a micro fibre ,its made it better but like you said lenny when the sun shines on the screen you can see the marks. I might have another go with the brasso and get a screen protector Like you use on a mobile phone to cover it.

I have had success polishing out scratches from plastic by lightly rubbing them using a soft cloth and toothpaste then finish with your brasso. if they are very deep get some metal polish called "Solvo Autosol", Halfords sell it as a chrome cleaner, it's a bit more abrasive than toothpaste.
