Hinksy
I'm very new to Fords and only bought my new KA on Friday just gone from the local Vauxhall dealership-she's a KA Collection model on a 2002 plate with 28k miles and in silver with the silver bodykit. From what I can gather she has the 60bhp Kent engine which was superseded by the 70bhp Duratec engine-is this correct? Anyway, I'm told that the Kent engines can be a bit troublesome, can anyone give me any pointers on things I should be looking out for, ie noises, smells etc that might suggest something is wrong in the future? Thanks in advance, Ben :)
delboy
never heard of a kent engine it sounds like it's the older engine that they use in the fiestas if it is then it's pretty much trouble free . just make sure you do an oil change etc when it's needed. if you have a photo that would be of help it's most prob the endura engine you have link here for the ka engines m8 http://images.google.com/images?q=ford%20ka%20engine

Is this the 60bhp engine which preceeded the 70bhp one? I'm new to all this Ford stuff http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...ngine%26hl%3Den Thanks buddy, Ben. delboy
hi m8 what i usually do when doing an oil change is use an engine flush to get all the crudd that buils up then empty all old oil then change the oil filter. then fill up with new oil & add a bottle of tapped additive. the additive keeps the tappets from pinking & cleans them . you don't have to do anymore that that apart from changing the air filter avery 2 yrs or so & check coolants as you would any other car. it shold not give you any trouble to be honest m8. i alway do an oil change when i get a car so i know it's done as you cannot trust a garage. that's just me though. if you have any orthe thigs you want to know just ask & i'll do my beast to be of help. happy motoring m8
