Can anyone tell me how to remove the glove box damper so as to replace with new one? Can see it but no way seems to get it out? Thanks. :(

what car is it, most fords if you lower the glovebox and unclip it so it hangs down then twist the damper about 45 degrees then it will come out

If you have a Focus you need to remove the glovebox to get proper access to the damper.

Push the sides in to hinge the box down and that will give you access.

I believe the damper is held on by a bar twisted into a slotted hole.

Rotate and line up the bar and slot and withdraw.

If it's a Mondeo, there is a catch on one end to depress so as to release the mounting spindle and the other end is a arrowhead type clip.

Thanks for the replies. I got as for as the damper but despite turning it, the arrowed end of it doesn't seem to want to release? Was the reply from Bob the answer? must give it a try. Once again Thanks. Gaz. Mondeo mk3. Thanks stoney, is it the arrowhead end that needs twisting to line up?

Not sure how you release the arrow head.

May be twist or you may need to fiddle around with screwdrivers/pliers.
