Lenny
is the rear bumper removal straightforward? seems to be a pin on either side of the bumper and they look like theyve been broken as its not sitting flush behind the arches, any help would be apprieciated?? not sure on the fixings of the mondeo bumper mate, but the focus has a bracket on either side that bolts to the chassie, then the bumper is held on to the brackets via six rivets on either side, if you require any ford rivets let me know because i have 40 of them in storage. in the event that you need to drill tehm out and replace. here is a ford diagrame of the rear bumper on a 2007 mondeo, it seems to be a similar fixture to the focus, you would need to remove the screws at the rear of the back wheel archs, then peel back the flap to allow access to the inside of the panel, then their should be a bracket bolted through to the inside of their, remove the nuts, on both sides, then check for other bolts or rivets on the rear of the bumper underneath the car, once all are removed then the bumper should lift off. others may be able to give more advise mate, and if you need more detailed ford images just ask. Lenny
thnx for the info lenny, gonna try and do a fix today if the rain stays off :( no probs mate, here is a closer look at the side panel inside the bumper, it seems their is a bolt and a rivet, the bolt would go through the chassie and gripped the other side by the nut and then the rivet would hold the bumper to the bracket, and if you end up being without a rear bumper for a while, then have a look at my thread for holding the fog and reverse lights http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/32690-reduce-reuse-and-recycle/page__p__180691__hl__pringles__fromsearch__1#entry180691
david kennedy
looks like the rivets come through the the inside edge of the bumper, and made the original hole bigger, prob try a stainless bolt with a nylon washer on the end, thnx again lenny for the bigger diagram. :D

Anthony_Aust
Hello, I just added a towbar to my mk3 yesterday with helpfrom this post. I live down under and assuming the cars are all the same aroundthe world the following is how I did it. Behind the rear wheels are 3 x screws (rear end side of arch, they are a 6 star screw head, i used a small ratchet and screw head)....removethese. I have a hatch back so in mine open the hatch and next tothe tail lights are 2 screws one on each side....remove these. Now slid under the rear of the car and you will see 2 xplastic push on screws holding the bottom of the bumper....remove these. While your under the car locate the connector for the rearparking sensors (mine was on the drivers side) this will slide off its supportand unclip this. That’s it, now go to one wheel arch and lift up thebumper with force then pull the upper part away from the car, do the same withthe other side and the whole thing will come off. Good luck
