I have enquired at a local Ford specialist Grahamgoode.com and they have told me that they only offer the bluefin chip at 399.99. Which will give my focus an extra 21bhp. Anyone reckon it's worth it? Cheers! Is your car petrol or diesel? Petrol remaps never give great increases but turbo diesels get the best results. Best two options are custom remap or bluefin. Beauty of bluefin is you also get a natty fault reader and can remove and reapply the map whenever you want. Ultimately the choice is yours, you may want to ring around to see what gains are offered from a few tuning companies before you decide. Thanks for the info :-) what car do you have? its more or less the same thing, they are pre written maps, the difference with bluefin is , you dont need a dealer to come round your house with a laptop and re-programe the ecu, you get the device to do it yourself, also with bluefin you can set it back to factory settings at no extra cost, a dealer would need to come back out to do the same thing and charge you for it. i had mine done via a dealer (celtic tuning) :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Oh you'll definitely notice a difference for the better :) ........ I've had my last 4 cars remapped by either REVO on 2 Skoda Octavia's and Superchips Bluefin on my current Focus and a Saab 9-3, the best money you can spend upping the power and torque characteristics especially on turbo diesels no matter how big the engine capacity. FOCA Posted October 2, 2013 Share Posted October 2, 2013 Looking at the power/ torque curves- http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/focus16tdci110bhp.pdf i would say there is a significant gain from 2k to peak power (just over 4k) the power curve is a "good shape" with a steep rise within the band with no dips/ and it does not "level off" - not much point in revving it over 4.1k, and you need to keep it above 2k to "shift" so a typical turbo-diesel "narrow power-band" again - on the torque curce not much below 2k (pre, or post remap) the 37Nm is a big "headline" figure, but more significant is the extra torque at 4k So overall well worthwhile with a significant gain - and you will notice a difference "all round" According to Superchips the mail-order Bluefin is not available for post 2010 Focus 1.6 TDCIs, and you would have to take the car to a Superchips dealer - you would need to confirm this with them, but the cost may be £320, rather than £399.99 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
