James Rosier
Morning All! Im thinking of removing and replacing the front two (passenger and driver) side Speakers, anyone know what Speakers would be any good?
Stoney871
Look at this on eBay: Ford Fiesta Front Door Speakers Alpine Car Speaker 220W http://bit.ly/NuOoNs
tunne1rat
Look for Focal, JL, Phoenix Gold, CDT or most other USA/European brands. Japanese brands tend to sound a little 'thin'. Also be aware that your headunit only puts out 15-20W max. Ford have designed the factory Speakers with that in mind so changing the Speakers can sometimes make the sound worse (unless you are going to amp up the new speakers). If you are not going to use amplifiers then my advice would be to just change the tweeters as these are the weakest part of the audio chain.
sambooka
Also if you do replace them I think there is some sort of an adaptor plate you have to fit as the originals are a special fitment
tunne1rat
Also if you do replace them I think there is some sort of an adaptor plate you have to fit as the originals are a special fitment This is correct. Plastic speaker adapter rings and wiring adapters are available (manufactured by connects2), but you can't beat mounting Speakers on home made mdf rings. I've seen a in phase speaker kit...about £100ish..was considering them? I'll post the link no once i can find them again, lol
V1M4L
These are the Speakers i was talking about... http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-in-phase-sxt6-1c-ford-fiesta-speaker-upgrade-system_p-26636.htm they cheaper on eBay though.. Vimal As this forum covers all Fiesta's we need to make sure we are on the same page, so I am assuming from your profile you have a mk7 Fiesta - in which case the Speakers in your link are not going to fit. So, for mk7 you will need speaker rings (Connects2 CT25FD10) and wiring adapters (Connects2 CT55-14). You will also need 6.5" component Speakers. This is where things could go pear shape depending on your choices - all I can do is advise. My advice is to steer well clear of the following : In-Phase, Edge, Fli, Vibe, Pyle, Magnat, Juice, T1, Mac, Fusion, Mutant, Lanzar, anything brightly coloured and anything that makes wild claims regarding the handling power. Middle of the road brands such as JBL, Alpine, Infinity, Pioneer, Ground Zero, Orion, Kenwood, etc can be good, but they also make some turkeys. So my recommendations based on quality vs value for money are: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-tsa171ci.html http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/spl-dynamics-sd-6-2.html http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ground-zero-gzrc165fx.html http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/focal-access-165-a1.html http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jl-audio-evolution-tr650csi.html http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/hel-e62c-helix-esprit-e62c.html http://www.extremeaudio.co.uk/products/cdt-audio---classic-cl-62/484/ Go for what you can afford and have fun experimenting. iMitchellHD
Hi, im new to modifying cars, and id love to upgrade the Speakers in my MK7, is it as simple as taking off the cover and swapping out the Speakers for new ones?
AntonyJ
I have these Pioneers up front: http://www.caraudiod...-tse-170ci.html The tweeters are on top of the dash for better imaging than the stock locations (also the tweeters are too large to go where the stock ones are - something to watch out for) Oh, and I made custom mounts for the main drivers out of 3/4" ply. AntonyJ
how did you put the tweeters on the dash? I put the crossover box behind the door cards and ran a relatively thin speaker wire from there back through the rubber tube carrying the wiring loom to the doors. There's a very small clearance between the rubber and the multi-way electrical plugs. I started on top of the dash and fed the wires down past the foam that fills the gap between the dash and the quarterlight trim. I lost a bit of skin getting the wires through, but it wasn't hard. The tweeters sit in pods that came with the set and are in the far corners next to the A pillars. You could screw them in place, but I used little pieces of double sided sticky foam tape. A more ambitious (and better) solution would be to mount them in the A pillars after moding the trim panels with fibreglass and recovering with cloth. Cartunes
Speaker Adaptors - there is no picture, but these are the ones. Just make sure you add some sound deadening too! http://www.caraudiod...r-adaptors.html Wiring Adaptor for 2010 onwards: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/con-ct20fd09-ct20fd09-harness-adaptor-for-ford-fiesta-062010.html Wiring Adaptor 2008-2010 http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/con-ct20fd08-ct20fd08-harness-adapter-for-ford-fiesta.html
V1M4L
Thanks... I found it reading earlier post lol where does the sound stuff go?
odyssey
I bought two pairs of JL Audio C3-650. They have a very nice sound. I bought these because I wanted Speakers in both front and rear doors and have it installed seamless. This kit allows me to use the Speakers as components in front and coaxials in rear, because you can mount the tweeter in the center of the speaker. I haven't gotten around to install them in the rear doors yet, but piece of advice - DO buy some Dynamat or StP to to deaden the doors and panels. I didn't do it yet, and it completely ruins the bass response if you don't. Actually, this investment is probably the best upgrade you can do to your Speakers without even upgrading them in the first place. Another note about this kit - If you want to mount the tweeter in the original place (like I did), you need to heavily modify it with a Dremel or something else for chopping up plastics :)

tunne1rat
Is there a guide anywhere for fitting new speakers into the MK7 ? they are good speakers but I just need that extra BASS!! There are guides for removing the door cards and replacing the tweeters. I have done guides for other Fords that use the same Speakers as the mk7 Fiesta. PM me if you need any info, but remember not all aftermarket Speakers are going to make the sound better.

Part number is a little different but would this cover me on a MK7 for the wiring adaptor? http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ct55-fd02-speaker-loom-adaptor-for-ford-fiesta Got the rings as part number still the same! As for 6.5 component Speakers assume your previous advice around brands etc still stands? Or any better advice given the time frame since that post? Something is ropey with my stock system, so if I need new Speakers not going near the dealers with a 10ft pole, gonna get some kit myself and sort it! You will need to cut off the ISO plugs but that's no odds really anyway as the wires would need to be resoldered if using the factory wiring anyway.
