Dash Display/luggage Comp Open?

Hi when i switch ignition on dash display says luggage comp open? when its not any ideas thanks..

(2008 1.6tdci estate)

Hi, i'd check the boot contact switch and oil it thoroughly, they do stick.

You'll probably also find the boot light stays on, draining your battery.

Hi thanks for reply, where is the switch? when tailgate is open no switch visable just locking mechanism and latch no light on and battery ok..

Just give the whole lock internals a good spraying with WD40 and open/close it a few times to see if it frees up.

i wonder if you can use ford IDS to change the message from ''luggage door compartment Open''

to somthing like ''Hostage Escaping'' sos.gif

Sounds like an excellent rewording!!! I would buy a focus JUST to get JohnH to change my message to that...

and "Low Washer Fluid Level" to "need 2 pee in bottle"...

and when the EML comes on, change the wording on the TC to "It's F******* again" lol

yes and when my 1.6TDCi throws up the codes: P132A, P132B

i want it to say '' Game Over You should have bought a 1.8TDCi ''

and when the DPF is kaput it should say

''2ltrs of petrol and match stick required''
