topcatfoc
Problem with my 2005 LX 1.6 TDCi . Whilst driving all panel warning lights suddenly illuminate. Loss of forward motion. Engine remains running/idling though does not respond to accelerator pedal. Odometer displays all dashes, i.e no numbers. After several attempts at restarting engine eventually starts and vehicle can be driven a short distance before problem reoccurs. Vehicle has been in hands of local FORD dealer for past ten days, was returned to me yesterday but symptoms returned (4 times) today. Has anyone experienced this (engine management?) problem before and, if so, what was found to be the cause?
Magenta
I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your problem but it continues to amaze me that Ford specialist dealers are unable to sort problems out like this with all the Ford backup and diagnostic equipment and (hopefully) experience they have. Perhaps the latter is the root cause, they just don't have enough experienced technicians who understand what they are looking at when viewing OBD data. It seems to me that the technology that vast companies like Ford have engineered into their products are just too far ahead of the local service people. Sorry for the rant - I look forward to seeing you getting it sorted !

Warrenfocus
Hi newbie, I had this problem a this week, all warning lights came on no forward drive so I pulled over, then some of the lights went out so I turned off the car then restarted and dash is back to normal. Then today I was driving along and the same thing happened twice within a mile drive, the second time the engine warning light has stayed on. Have you resolved the problem? Am interested to find out what was the cause.
