Some pics of my neighbour's Fiesta van which has been written off by the insurance company

He hit the back of a mini and is now very sorry to see it go

Ahh, Gutted. Nice looking Fiesta Van, got full body kit on :-).

Quite nice to see the knee airbags work, I wouldn't think that was a write off, brand new fiesta van - 13K+ it,s not gona be more than 10K to fix that is it?

That worries me quite a bit, so little damage for a write off :s

The fact the airbags have gone off shows it was a relatively high force collision.

You only need the subframe to be out of alignment and it can easily cause a write off.

Plus who knows how much damage has happened to the engine, it soon adds up.

No way can't that be a write off, seen 5+ year old cars with more damage than that and still repaired :/

My old mk6 fiesta was involved in a crash and the bodywork wasn't that bad but the air bags deployed and the recovery man was telling me pretty much as soon as the air bags are deployed its 90% of the time a right off

Just spoken to my neighbour - he said it is definitely a write-off

He hit the back of another car on a dual carriageway - as he said "it was quite an impact"

If there's a structural damage it's deemed a Cat B "Beaker" there and then, cosmetically it can look fine.
