Featured Replies

I have a 1.8 tdci focus 2002. From cold the start up in quite clunky sometimes. Its had new starter motor and glowplugs recently so not sure its them. I do beleive it coukd be something to do with the flywheel (sensor maybe? Although had new one 10k ago). When i turn my car of sometimes the engine stops quite clunky whereas sometimes smooth ?? Aswell when i turn it of sometimes theres a few beeps from the engine? Varies from 1 to 3 beeps somwtimes ?? Any suggestions ?? Help

Aswell to add, it had new flywheel just over a year ago.

Sounds like to start, you need to check the ECU for any error codes. the clunky engine, could be anything really.

Are you referring more to the physical shudder of the engine, or is it just jittery in trying to start?

I have a focus MK1.5 estate ghia 1.8 TDCI and I've just noticed a beep sound when I turn the dash on and I won't start/tick over, it has been in my garage unused for 3 weeks and on a used dealers lot for a month before that

note: the engine management light isn't flashing so not fault as such. So I'm thinking the battery is a bit too flat to start
