St_antonboy67
The dashboard light on my '02 Fiesta 1.25 Freestyle have become very dim and are nearly unreadable at night. I think the bulbs may have blown. Does anyone know what size bulbs i need to buy?
gaz6076
Is there not a dimmer switch? Perhaps you've hit it by accident
St_antonboy67
Is there not a dimmer switch? Perhaps you've hit it by accident I've looked for a dimmer switch in the car and in the manual and can't find one anywhere! I don't think my model was fitted with a dimmer switch, so i think it maybe the bulb/s have blown.
SierraYankee99
Thing is, theres several bulbs. If just one had blown the whole of the cluster wouldnt be dim.

St_antonboy67
in the dial cluster they are all LED's apart from the indicator lights which are bulbs the lighting that is dim is the back light that eluminate the dials, not any of the instument lights etc.
Dazza03
Sounds like u need a new dial cluster mate, they are about £30 on eBay i think
SierraYankee99
the lighting that is dim is the back light that eluminate the dials, not any of the instument lights etc. Its definitely not a dimmer then or they'd all be dim. Ring Ford they'll tell you what types you'll need from microcat. To be honest, I've always found for stuff like this Fords prices are pretty similar to anyone elses. Sounds like u need a new dial cluster mate, they are about £30 on ebay i think Dont think its quite that simple. If its an electronic cluster with the digital display of distance covered and trip meter the cars mileage is stored on the cluster not on the ECU. Change the cluster you'd change the mileage of the car too. To keep the mileage right on the vehicle you might have to get a new one and Ford will transfer the mileage to the new one. Besides everythings working apart from the lights so its probably just an anomaly that most of the bulbs have gone together.

It's definitely not the digital display as its the only thing that's bright on the dashboard. I think I'll contact ford, either at my local dealer or by phone. thanks
