Cutting Out Focus

Hello all,

I have a slight problem with my Focus.

It's a 55 plate 1.6 estate with 39000 miles.

It's recently had a new coil pack and sparkplugs.

Now and again when you start it it cuts out after a second or so. It restarts straight away. It drives perfectly without issue apart from this. Anything to be worried about?

Regards

Steve

sounds like the fuels not igniting properly, even with the replacement sparks, so the next place to look is the fuel filter. perhaps insufficient fuel is getting through on the first turn of the engine... but once the pressure has improved, it then allows it to proceed.

I get the same thing once a month - car will turn over but engine will not start, always starts second time though. I have had my 1.6 petrol for 3 and a half years and it has always done this, I just put it down to a strange quirk. Not sure if there is an easy to replace fuel filter on the 1.6 petrol as it isn't on the ford service schedule.
