steveuk
Hi all I have a fiesta mk5 2000plate 1.25 zetec s. When coming upto a junction I put my foot on the clutch and I noticed the revs go down to 1000rpm then upto about 1300rpm then back down to 950rpm. I have dont alittle research and some people say that it maybe something to do with the engine temp sensor, I have noticed that after running the car for about 30mins the temp gauge shows 1/4 doesnt go up anymore. Hope someone has had or knows what the problem is. Also anyone know where I can get a engine break down diagram. cheers guys
jeebowhite
Could be the engine temperature, could be the mass air flow sensor, but more than likely is the idle control valve. If you switch your car on and sit in neutral, what revs do you see?

steveuk
Hi Have now noticed that acouple of times when coming to a stop the engine goes to stall then recovers its self, this has happened 2-3 times in the last few days. Is this a idle control valve issue or something else. Please any info with be greatful
btmaldon
Sure does sound like an idle control valve issue. It may be slower to react or sticking slightly due to the cold weather, especially if your car sits outside all night. You should find one on eBay for about £30.
