16 To 17 Alloys

i have just got myself a facelift focus on a 09 plate its got 16ich alloys and just woudering if i could put 17 straight on with out any isues and could i still have people in the back with out any rubbing as i am liking the sport pack alloys and what tyres would i need to run please.

i can't imagine going up an inch will cause any problems, the 17's will probably have lower profile tyres anyway so the actual overall size difference will be negligable.

Will be fine,

The focus from 2005-2011 can take up to and including 19" rims,

Even lowering the car on ford approved Eibach springs will still allow you to carry passengers in the back.

Not sure on the exact profile of the tyres possible 215/45/R17

if your looking to change your wheels i'd go for 18's

i went from 16's to 18's and absolutely love them i think they look the dogs doodahs

straight swap with no problems , start looking on eBay took me a couple of months of looking and watching to get what

i wanted at the price i wanted

Lowered on 18" will look great,

If your wondering what 18's look like without lowering :

Its worth noting:

Bigger rims results in increased unsprung weight,

The bigger wheel will slightly reduice your aceleration speed due to the axle turning a bigger mass,

On the positive side though

Your tyres will be wider resulting in increased grip and improved handling,

I agree with Gary on the 18's grip, handling is excellent.

foruns a nice set if team dynamic pro race 3 in 17 but very confuzed as diffrent companys offer diffrent tires i got 205/50/17,225/45/17or 205/40/17 witch one would be best for comfort?

205/50/R17 would give you 50mm between your rim and the road,

The middle figure is always the depth,

225/45/R17 will be good enough too mate but anything lower than 35 and you will feel a leaf on the road.
