actually its 5%! the tyre sidewall is measured by % of the width of the tyre....why do i know this? its cos I'm sad 😭....not realy, I work for a Govt dept who do work on tyres/cars

Lenny I did like the little growing story above, very ingenious 😎

Sorry if I seemed a bit ratty mate,

The growing images were done for my build thread at the time; it was my way of softening the fact I had spent €475 purchasing each 18x8" rim from ford with a tyre 😳 at the time I didn't want too many haters to be hating.

They later fractured after three years and I sold them on eBay for 200 pounds at auction, leaking air through the cracks. #SmackDat

No as was most likely the country roads, also had a rear passengers side flat tyre for few weeks and didn't know as the side walls were reinforced

Didn't know until I saw wire on the inside of the tyre, The eight inch wide rims suffer negative camber despite laser tracking alignment,

The standard rims are 6.5" wide which doesn't suffer the camber issue as much

Any of you posting about putting alloys on your car, I have bought 18” ST alloys for my 2009 focus and am having problems with them. Only put them on yesterday and they look perfect. However the wheel nut doesn’t turn onto the wheel stud as much as it should/ did with old wheels. Do I need special nuts? Thanks

Can you post a pic up of what you mean? If the nuts are only held on by a couple of turns I'd put the old wheels back on sharpish till it's sorted.

There's a discussion going on here about wheel nuts

The stud threads in as far as the red line in the second picture. Have been told I need special wheel nuts, but don’t see how this will help as it can still only thread in as far as the alloy..
