Ecoboost Engine Cover For The 1.0 Fiesta.

My preference would be some way of knowing where the front of the car is, like a ball on a stick above the front grille.

When parking between cars or at home i'm expecting airbags to fire-off left right and centre :)

You'll struggle to paint it, it's a porous rubber material, I attempted/painted the "ecoboost" part on mine if you check my old ZS thread. I wouldn't reccomend it.

I know this post was a long time ago, but is everyone's engine covers still looking stock? I have got one myself recently and was wondering if the rubber could be wrapped and or painted to customise it a bit? Cheers

Any idea why Euro parts list an option for before and after 02/2014?

http://www.european-parts.net/product_info.php?language=en&info=p1476_1-0-ecoboost-motorabdeckung.html&=

Looking to get one of these fitted on my Dad's new Fiesta, but want to make sure I order the correct one... Does it still need trimming and the intake removed to install?

I'm not sure why there's 2 options but I got mine in 2013 and have it on my 2015 fiesta now without issue.

If your using silicone hoses then it will need to be cut slightly for a perfect fit.

How come the intake pipe needs to be removed?

Be a bit of a pain come service won't it?

It can be fitted with the pipe in place but just easier to remove the intake pipe. Tbh there only gunna take the cover off when the spark plugs need replacing which isn't every year. Plus taking the intake pipe off is only a 5 minute job.

I've fitted one to my 1.0 ecoboost last week. Took 2 minutes.

I bought the 2 retailing bolts from Ford (bought front grille at same time).

The intake pipe, I just disconnected one end near the air box and it was enough to move out the way slightly to get cover on.

Looks so much better with it on. Also seems slightly quieter now too.

Has anyone cut theirs to fit better?

I'm wondering if you can just cut down that crease on the right hand side of the cover.

But if it looks a mess after cutting, it seems pointless....

I trimmed the corner and now it fits perfectly and can't be seen.

Would you need to advise your insurance company of this change?

hmmm.... wonder how my insurance company would feel about it lol

I wouldn't have thought an insurance company would be interested in an engine cover as it doesn't have any effect on the car.   They are only interested in anything that boosts the cars performance or handling.

Does anyone know if the cover will still fit with an ally crossover pipe? 😁

Would like an engine cover myself, just unsure what I actually need as I can't seem to find the parts on the FordPartsUk site anymore??

I know I'm a latecomer, but thank you so much to the people who contributed to this thread! I snatched one off eBay, luckily, with the fixtures for a reasonable price and I just did what some of you guys did!

It definitely looks better with the cover on, in all honesty. So glad it's finally installed!

Might just be me, as well, but it sounds marginally quieter.

Sprayed mine a gloss black with a rattle can. Couple of coats of primer and paint and it looks good apart from where I've scuffed it at a later date

I have to park my car near several trees so was thinking about fitting one of these to help keep debris out of hard to reach places. According to various sellers it should fit the Mk 8 with no problems but I wondered if any Mk 8 owners had done so yet, and if so, any issues. Thanks.

are there any tips for a self install? I'm not that mechanically minded, so any help will be great, or am I being stupid and does it come with fitting instructions
