Focus Cd6000 Aux Mode Problem

Hi,

Ive got a 2008 Focus Zetec Climate with a Visteon CD6000 head unit. Ive checked the glove box and arm rest and cant see an AUX input for it, but it comes with the option on the radio. So im guessing an AUX input has just not been installed. I checked the internet and found a Connect2 lead, CTAFOIPOD005.2 (just AUX) and CTAFOIPOD005.3 (AUX + iPhone). I got the .3 lead as it does both and installed it but it doesnt seem to work. I plugged it in through AUX first and got no sound, then plugged in using the iPhone lead, but still no sound. But the iPhone charges. Made sure all the connections where firmly in place but nothing.

On the Connects2 website for the lead http://www.connects2.co.uk/ProductInformation.aspx?id=11751, it says that it connects into the CD change port, I dont have a CD changer, firgured that the person who bought the car orginally just didnt want one installed?

Any ideas if this is the reason why its not allowing the sound through??

Thanks

Rory

On the loom module (quadlock) at the back of the radio you have a slot spare that takes a connector block (C block) which feeds the aux signal directly to the radio.-

The easiest option to make an aux connection is buy one of these-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-6000CD-AUX-in-to-3-5mm-Jack-24-220-3-5-/300471701053?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item45f5824e3d

Plug it straight into the space in the quadlock and run the cable out from under the demister switch panel on the dash.

Ahh ok thanks, nice and cheap.

Do you know if this radio would take an iPhone connection, or would i need to get an aftermarket head unit?

For that you'd need something like this-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251224717949?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I personally use one of these-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Griffin-iTrip-Dual-Connect-for-iPhone-iPod-touch-GA22050-RRP-40-/161004753675?pt=UK_iPad_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item257ca1930b

It gives you remote iPhone music control, charges the phone and can be either connected to the aux cable I listed earlier or transmitted to a spare radio channel (set up via a free app) thus doing away with the need for an aux cable altogether but you may find you'll need to retune occasionally if you encounter any signal wash over from radio stations if you travel into another radio transmission area.

I've actually got two, one for my own car and one for my work car (saves me forgetting it or leaving it lying around somewhere and losing it).
