It looks like Microsoft have turned around on their decisions. http://majornelson.com/2013/06/19/your-feedback-matters-update-on-xbox-one/ after being a big fan of the 360 when it came out and having 3 die on me i decided to go to the ps3 but then after a while i noticed games on the ps3 seem to be single player (no -co-op) and online only. decided to go back to the 360 once they sorted the overheat issue and the game span seemed a lot bigger majoirty of games were at least 2 player and co-op both offline and online. As soon as i heard about the xbox one being 24 online only i thought that sucked!!! and what sucked even more is the pre owned game situation!!! looks like ps4 for me but now they have revolked this i might be sticking to xbox, thye juts need to bring the price down now. Nathan_M Posted June 21, 2013 Author Share Posted June 21, 2013 The more power debate is always a hollow one on consoles, the Xbox will always have the slight advantage as games developed for the PC will port to the Xbox better than anything else, the only 'power' advantage that the PS4 has is in the RAM used and so i don't think will come in to play, i reckon that Microsoft offers the best overall package in respect to online services, multimedia services and customer service in my past experience. They've recently forced me to upgrade my perfectly good hotmail app on my android phone to the outlook app and its basically rendered it useless. I can now only get push emails if im connected to WiFi which defeats the purpose of having it as a mobile app and me and millions more people are complaining 3 months on still no fix. It was the same with Windows 8. Microsoft dont give a crap once they have your money and I hate the way they use their financial muscle strangle hold any competition. I always got a freebie from them when sending mine back i got Forza 2 for free back in the day as well as Halo 3, plus they also chuck in a month of Xbox live to compensate for the loss of the month due to repair or what ever, and i have never been too keen on the Hotmail apps, what phone are you using? Not even an appology I had to fight to get my money back they just wanted to keep replacing it by which time I'd had enough. Ive got the Sony xperia z the hotmail app was brilliant for me especially in regards to the forum. I used to get any post notifications instantly now im lucky if I get a notification even if im connected through WiFi and its not just my phone its the full android set up just about. At first you couldnt even log into the app it just kept crashing and going back to the log in screen. As far as im concerned tactics like using financial muscle to get all the New map packs a month early on COD for example to put people off PlayStation are just dirty tricks. It actually put me off COD altogether for selling out to them. Not this time round. Both are using standard x86 PC hardware, both have 8 amd jaguar cpu cores, both have the amd gcn gpu architecture in their apus. The ps4 is using 16 gcn cores against the 12 found in the xb1 and as you have mentioned the ps4 has gddr5 vs ddr3 memory. The ps4 has more powerful hardware and there will be no limitations on being able to use it this time. Devs have already said that the ps4 has the hardware processing edge and this time with multiplatform games if we see any difference it should be the opposite with the ps4 running better than xb1, especially given the huge memory overhead requirements of the xb1 triple os as well. Nathan_M Posted June 21, 2013 Author Share Posted June 21, 2013 That still doesn't alter the fact that games will be developed on windows pc's and the xb will get first refusal, I doubt major developers will make ps4 versions to take this power in hand, exclusives will be better if time is spent on them by devs, doesn't alter the fact that I prefer the Xbox eco system and software that is onboard. I only used my PS3 for blu-rays too. I then sold it and bought a proper blu-ray player. To be honest, I don't know about buying another games console. I was thinking about the Xbox One this week. It does look like a good console. I opted over PS4 because of the limitations on the Xbox One. But now they've released more news about it, I decided that I would think more about the Xbox. I'm just not sure about wasting my money on another console when I can just buy a desktop and upgrade that if and when I need to. Although I have my own pc upstairs in my bedroom (with no internet) I don't use it much. I have only used it for processing photos from my camera. And I haven't used my camera much since I went to Scotland for a weeks holiday 5 weeks ago. Decisions... decisions... Also I have no idea about pc's. I do know that I would want something to run Photoshop (maybe the newest version) together with maybe Lightroom. Also a few simulators (Flight Sim, Euro Truck Simulator and maybe Sim City).... I would consider using http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ Go to scan.co.uk for the best prices in my experience you would only need an i3 with a decent GPU for 2 of those games anyway, if it's FSX your trying to play I can't decide between an i3 or in, videos of flight sim on a core i3 2120/3220 look to be acceptable as well as keeping the price down, it's a lot to think think about when considering a pc for gaming, in my opinion you can game to console quality for under 550 quid while 650 will near enough max any game of the market. In a word disappointed, that something like this only lasted 7 days. Bad . bad . bad. No in all seriousness, I have felt next-gen is a bit of an anti-climax. It doesn't help that I am buying all multi-plats on PC, so it leaves me with little to buy on my PS4. Knack is better than expected, but my main reason for getting the PS4 was Killzone, but the save system is atrocious, I lost over an hours progress over the weekend due to the way it (doesn't) save, so it has put me off playing it. I even took Friday off work for the PS4, and over the weekend, I must have put more hours into my PC than PS4. PC is not all sunshine and rainbows though, ACBF is such an unstable game on PC at the moment. It is so much fun when it works, but keeps flippin' crashing! I think 2014 is going to be the year of the next gen console, I can't wait for Infamous and Destiny. As for the apps, its like a nice wine, it will get better with age. No issues with mine what so ever, great purchase in my opinion. Really happy with it. Nathan_M Posted December 2, 2013 Author Share Posted December 2, 2013 It's the same old though I wouldn't have minded so much if I hadn't had so many issues with my 360 back in the day something they know I contacted them and to replace it I required a credit card (I don't believe I them, I spend what I have) and an account hold of £600 which is more than the console, the games aren't a wow to me to be honest plus a lot of launch promises aren't there so generally I find it pointless for now perhaps when a slim version comes I would consider it. For now it's either a mac mini alienware x51 or vaio all in one for me jacks of all trades and masters of none, I genuinely think I have watched more tv since the xbox one came and not on it like they would like to think.
