Just bought a replacement spring for my Armadillo roller shutter.

Took me two hours to remove the split pin holding it in place,and then found the spring is too long to be removed without further dismantling the shutter housing. Has anyone had to change one themselves,and could they please advise me of the best course to take?

All help gratefully received! Patience worn very thin!
