CyborgD
Hello all I'm new here and any assistance would be much appreciated if possible. I have a Ford focus 2012 model with the Standard head unit sound system and I'm trying to install this Sub. If its impossible then I have a reasonable budget to mod things up. The Unit https://www.dropbox.com/sc/nyszw1r7iocsg7w/IRwn45YwYl Side of the Sub https://www.dropbox.com/s/t5vvjbfazgxvkhj/20130806_134117.jpg Current Head unit https://www.dropbox.com/s/22odh1odzggy9er/20130806_132957.jpg Behind the head unit https://www.dropbox.com/s/63turly8ou5tjki/20130806_133156.jpg Rear Wiring https://www.dropbox.com/s/nyfetylrk0o6qsx/20130806_133029.jpg Behind the CD Player https://www.dropbox.com/s/rqtgpqdh6wies8y/20130806_133134.jpg battery https://www.dropbox.com/s/m36oqs8pgqbztmb/20130806_134024.jpg Cables i have to hand https://www.dropbox.com/s/f2zc0hhrnhcdlto/20130806_134310.jpg Power sockets in the boot https://www.dropbox.com/s/qlccvgt6c91eom9/20130806_134144.jpg These are a few pictures i took to better explain whats happening inside the car, Im familiar with how to wire everything up but i have been told by a mate that it MIGHT NOT be possible to install this without an RCA converter. salsheikh
i used an RCA converter from Halfords - its the only option. works well to a limit. I have a Sony DAB unit in my Focus mk2

I have a Sony DAB unit in my Focus mk2 Thanks for the reply, I'm no expert but where does the RCA converter attach? There is nothing to work with behind the CD player here. EDIT: I have read that i need to cut into the Left and Right Speakers from the main head unit in order to bring them to the converter. Hoping its that simple, Any insight into that? I'm going to buy an RCA converter anyway.
salsheikh
I connected my rear Speakers to the converter and the front/rear Speakers together. This is the only way to cintrol the sub output
CyborgD
I connected my rear speakers to the converter and the front/rear speakers together. This is the only way to cintrol the sub output OK I tapped into the rear Speakers via the RCA converter and that's worked a charm so far. Tomorrow I'm on a mission to grab myself a decent switch to control the amp's power on/off. It was actually far easier than expected. I will update this post later on to better clarify the process for anyone else going through this.
