Why does my car make noises about 15-30 minutes after I've switched the engine off?

What kind of noises? Mine makes like a creaking sound. I think it's the ac unit.

Is it an occasional ticking/cracking sound? If so it's probably just the metal cooling down/contracting.

Engine block and heatshields contracting as they cool down.

Perfectly normal.

Forgot to say that the noise sounds like its coming from the centre of the dash

Can you perhaps record a video of the sound ? (Just use a smartphone or whatever you have available)

Hi, Mine does exactly the same after about 10 mins. The noises are coming from the climate control unit (even when you are not using it). The unit resets itself. When you turn the ignition back on you can hear the unit moving the flaps etc to the settings you have previously used.

Quite normal so i have been told.
