Got my alternator removed from the mechanic and i went to the ELECTROAUTO they told me it was dead or it was probably on its final hours,so i went and bought another alternator so i made them a easy question why was my first one damaged, they told me probably from the diesel that came from changin the fuel filted that is just on the top of the alternator, hmmmm is it true?Does Diesel or water damage the alternator?I was thinking if its true than FOrd made it to the top so we damage our alternator and get it replaced,i nedd advice.....Than we got replaced the alternator and the belts etc etc...than came a stresfull etape..the pump had got air like all DIESEL engines sucks..if they get air they make your life harder :( after 1 hour atemp we managed to sart the engine and wait for the air to go totaly, than i went to try the aceleration pedal and it was very weird,i added accelerat and it tooked the RPM's like after 1 sec i added accelerat and the RPM went down slowly. The mechanic added much accelerat like 5000 RPM and the gas pedal managed to get hmmmm normal i think,do you understand me,sorry for my bad english. Is this all normal wwhat happened?Do i have to make any computer installation or something becouse we got the battery unplugged and maby the computer system is formated?Im dummy on how this thing works thats why i do this kind of questions,i mean its the car like the PHONE,for example if i take the battery from the phone i propably have to set the time and date to it again,...annnddd one thing i made the SELF test and i got a A103 on DTC#01 how to fix it?thanks :)

Sounds fairly normal to me when you struggle to bleed the diesel...take it it's now back to normal.

Disconecting the battery might make the ecu have to go through a relearning process, but it will settle down after a few miles of driving.

A103 refers to immobilizer pick up, nor unusual to see it logged, if your not having immobilizer problems then clear it and recheck to see if it reappears

oil destroys alternators so cant see why diesel wouldn't do the same, would take a period of time though not like one splashing, if you have air in the system they are a swine to bleed and wont run or run right. on the fault code as already said clear and check in a day or two.

The ECU is the brains of the car, it controls and manages all engine and electrical functions.

Over time it learns driving styles, fuel efficiency and throttle usage.

When reset it just needs a couple of good runs to get it back in sync with your way of doing things.

All perfectly normal.

i hope it too coze this car is making me so stresfull a lot of glitches they have done, now i was reading about the DPF and i dont know if i have a self cleaning DPF or a DPF that must be replaced, and how do i know if that liquid must be filld or something like that.Cant we just wash the DPF i saw so many videos on youtube cleaning it,isnt this the cheaper way? :/

Your car will most likely have the DPF, its highly unlikely it wont have one, and it is the maintenance required (EOLYS fluid) variety.

You could take it out and power wash it, however local law may prevent it as its full of toxins and poisons that would kill the environment, it needs to be done properly and professionaly, and here in the UK, you would probably be shot by MI6 for trying it...

Ive seen alot of people take it off and droll holes threw a dpf just enough for gasses to pass and still to let enough pressure to hit the sensor so it doesn't throw up a fault code, thats what ill be doing if mine ever plays up but 106k and still ok touch wood

So how do i know if the EOLY fluid on my car is on parameters or if i do have to add fluid,i mean in how many miles is this fluid added?About the washing hopefully Albania doesnt have those strict laws yet i can do what ever i want with the DPF but the question is how acurate is washing it?About 80% or lower?Just wash with water or any other aditive too? thanks

EOLYS fluid is topped up usually every 37,500 miles, and would be done by a dealer, who then resets the clock.

If your car has not got a service record to show its been done you probably would need to get it done. Unfortunately its a specifically formulated fluid that cannot be replaced by standard (like water or other) so you would need a dealer to sort this for you.

The DPF could be jet washed and replaced, but you need to let it dry first or the water will cause the particles to stick in the short term.

hmmm i see.but steel a very good news that i can wash it though :) what about some methods that wash without remoing it but with ading some substance on the sensor of the dpf like LUIQI MOLY or others.are they acurate?

I havent heard much of a review, but these products claim to help clean it and in fairness some probably will, but I havent heard any one say "brand X works perfectly" and certainly not "it worked better than replacing the filter"...

Finaly the last question :) that liquid that is filled every 35000 miles, how do i messure it?how do i know if i have to refill,i have 115000Km on my car but i dont know what has done the preowner to the car i dont know the history, can i somehow log in any FORD page with my cars serial numbur and see the service that my car took all this years?thanks

Sometimes if you look up the underside of the car, next to the fuel tank you can see a reservoir, if its clear you may see the amount of liquid in there, however most likely you wont be able to see how much is there, and sometimes you may not see this tank at all.

You would need to have the dealer review this and they would do this for you.

Eolys fluid is horrible rotten expensive stuff.

Tbh you're best off getting a garage to do the job.

If you search the net for DPF removal in your country you may find something, otherwise, you could try and track down the DPF filter, and then drill through the DPF and refit the shield?

Its not something I have personally done myself, so I cant really offer much help. Hopefully the exhaust specialists will be able to help you.
