Hiya all,

Can someone tell me what the MAF sensor does?? And can you block the sensor port on a 1.6 J1 air filter as i want to fit it to a 1.2 i dont think my 1.2 has a MAF sensor correct me if im wrong??

It measures the flow of air - 'mass air flow'

Yes you will need to lock the port if the car does not have a maf sensor fitted

I believe only turbo charged cars have MAF sensors (the one in my golf gttdi 150 was replaced a couple of times!!).

Non turbo cars have them too.

Daniel, I would ask your question about the body kit in a separate thread to be honest to get the best response. If you want to do that I will edit the title of this one.

what size is the hole that needs blanked?

Cheers i will do that. And yh please edit ta, and im not sure tbh its like 20mm wide and maybe 50/60 mm long, does my 1.2 have a MAF sensor if so i can just plug it in but how do i know what they look like ?? Or what to block it with ??
