Orange Warning Light (Tire)

Hi,

Earlier today an orange warning light appeared and stayed on my dashboard.

It looks like a tire with three lines coming off of it.

There's also a button next to my handbrake with the same symbol.

It's a 51 plate 1.6 Petrol Focus.

Looked at the manual online and it isn't on there.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Its the traction control button and warning, just means the front tyres slipped slightly

If the light goes out when I fire up the motor next nothing to worry about then?

But if stays on book it in somewhere or just turn it off?

I would never turn traction contol off its a very important safety mechanism, is should have only come on when the tyres actually slipped if its stayed on something is wrong

Was this the image? (not the same colour as this has been modded to blue)

if its permanent, then it could be an ABS sensor issue.

Probably unrelated, but had this on a mercedes sprinter, the van would break by itself sometimes, turned out to be a steering angle sensor.

It lights up when i put my dash/side lights on.

The small symbol appears on the dash when pressed, and goes off once I press the buttong again.
