Anything interesting? No leaving out the embarrassing ones!? haha I'll start it off: - '93 Peugeot 106 1.4 Diesel XND Graduate in White What a beast!! My first car was incredibly cheap to run and never let me down but oh my was it slow and not to mention a little basic! Even a cigarette lighter was an optional extra! Good little first car though! - '04 Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec MK1.5 3 Door in Machine Silver Loved this car. My first Ford I was so pleased with after always admiring the Focus! Kept is for over 4 years with very few problems. Added a few subtle mods incuding ST170 wheels, ST170 upper and lower front grill, ST170 clear side repeaters, ST170 Air box, scoop, air deflector and K&N panel filter, iridium plugs and upgraded ignition leads, full black leather interior with heated seats (retro fitted original factory spec buttons with illumination), HID headlight conversion and all other bulbs upgraded, pioneer bluetooth/ipod head unit and pioneer Speakers all round, ST170 interior door handles, ST170 pedals, full colour coding of all outside black plastics, interior map lights retro fitted. I think that must be about everything. Sad to see it go! - '07/57 Smart ForTwo 1.0 Turbo 84hp 451 in Black Still have this as it's the wife's car although I drive it now and then. Took a little getting used to but have to say we both love it as a nice little run around. Surprisingly nippy and great on fuel/tax compared to the ST. Only put in a few upgraded bulbs and changed out the stereo to a pioneer as the original one sounded pants!! - '08 Ford Focus ST3 MK2.5 3 Door in Moondust Silver My current car and my pride and joy. Had it for more than a year and a half now and love every minute of it! Always wanted and ST and I have not been disappointed. Managed to find a tidy one with a few decent extras too. Mods so far include Bluefin stage 1 remap (what a difference!), K&N panel filter, de-resonated standard exhaust for a few more pops and a bit more noise, LED side lights and number plate lights to match the xenons, gloss black powder coated standard alloys, DMB gel overlays, bonnet lip wrapped in gloss black, bluetooth module upgraded to retro fit USB and bluetooth audio feature. Gutsy growling engine, very fast and looked sweet. Spent quite a few ££ on it over the years as VW's are expensive to maintain. Only major issue was the gearbox going on the M4 and a big oil slick left behind me. lol 2013 - Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 My current car and 2nd love of my life lol. Bought outright for £4,400 with 47k on the clock and 2 previous owners. Not as nippy as the Golf ( i do miss the punch of a 1.8) but better in so many other ways, and modification options brought me to this forum . jeebowhite Posted October 8, 2013 Share Posted October 8, 2013 Bruce's list of motors never ceases to amaze me! me, I had a 95 Citroex AX, 4 forward gears, 1.0 petrol engine, first car after passing my test in around 2007. Second was a 54 plate fiesta finesse, 1.25 petrol in midnight blue, was an excellent motor, but I got a job with a lot of driving and a small car with a small petrol engine was costing too much fuel wise. this was about 2008 Third car was a 55 plate Focus Zetec Climate, 1.6 TDCi, this was the motor that seemed best to replace the Fiesta, it was a good car when it worked, but began the tradition of Jeebob + any diesel Ford = money draining from every crevice possible! This was about 2009 Fourth car was a Kia Cee'd, 1.6 petrol, 124bhp, not a bad motor at all! handled as well as the Focus and was a pleasure to drive, was nimble, quick and all round a very good motor, I bought it in 2011 and had to ditch it new year last year, it lost money hand over fist, but we needed a bigger car for the family. Current Car: 55 plate Ford Focus CMAX 1.6 TDCi CVT, for a cat D writeoff, its generally its a lovely motor to drive, its continued the tradition that the prior Focus commenced. It has cost me a fair few quid in repairs already, but the Auto side of it has benefited my health, and the diesel (even though its auto) has been rather economical. The car is just about on top form. all mechanical repairs have been completed, however (and heres where the expense comes in!) Ford made a terrible lapse in judgement.... The 1.6 TDCI CVT gearbox cant cope in the long term with the amount of Torque that the engine throws out. I am now on the edge of my seat, with extended warranty in hand, just waiting for the day that the gearbox finally gives up... and when it comes, it will cost me a few hundred quid to fix, and thats with the warranty in hand. I normally have two cars on the go but the last two Focus's are the only ones I have bought from new. The current one I bought in April 2011 is the longest I have ever owned a car. 'It's all over with a Rover!' Yeah, I was very fortunate that my parents helped me out a bit with buying it. I'm not complaining at all! Its a ghia too so loads of gadgets. I'd love to get a Focus ST soon but my Fiancee and I want to get a small caravan as we go to quite a lot of motorsport for the weekend, and setting up a tent for one night is a pain. Unfortunately, the ST can't tow, so I'll be looking at a Golf GTi, Octavia VRs, BMW etc. To be fair, the rover was absolutely brilliant, however we wanted a more modern car that was only £30 road tax (my mum barely uses it) and, more importantly, safer.
