Hi

On my fiesta the water jets arent working properly.

When i press the button on the wiper stalk the motor runs and lets a squirt of water through, then the motor stills runs but n owater comes out, is it blocked or has the motot gone

If i need to change the bottle how do i get to it as it seems to be in the wing

thanks

Hi

welcome to FOC

Few things to check

1. You have water in the bottle

2. With a fine needle push the needle in the jets to unblock

3. check for air locks in the pipes (may be hard) You could try hot water the draw the air out of the lines. Try topping up to the top and leaving for an hour to see if their is a leak.

Try and do it again making sure no water drips on the floor.. then try your pump out for a good 30 secs... see if any water comes out from below the car.. the hose may of detatched from the jet under the bonnet.

check this out.. looking for water coming out under the car too.

ok.. are you able to get to the pipe under the bonnet? Perhaps blow down the pipe.

If this fails then I would say pump is the problem for sure.

  • 4 months later...

Also for future reference, check the bottle, if it has any 'black skum' around the insides then remove the pump and check its filter as a piece of the afore mentioned scum has probably detatched from the side of the bottle and been sucked against the filter stopping the waterflow!
