Sounds like the map wasnt properly done, it seems to be looking at the EGR sensor still.

That's what I keep thinking, my car was mapped then had the dpf taken out and mapped out, had for change the sensor and updated my ECU so lost all previous mapping that's when I started to get p2002 so had it mapped again and still getting p2002 it drives fine no limp mode I just keep clearing the code out, is there a possibility it could be perished pipes from sensor to dpf?

Cheers

It is possible to fix a resistor instead of the DPF sensor that fools the ECU into thinking the DPF is present and OK (a bit like how a "resistor" tuning box works)

Ford have a different "mentality" to a tuner/ remapper, and a different approach to problems like this, its them that lost your original remap when they updated the ECU ("too many cooks" etc), better to go to the place you got the DPF delete/ remap done to sort it - alternatively - just leave it the way it is if it runs fine

Hi

Engine malfunction on display DPF

Mk 1 kuga

I had the car to 3 garages

The first one was my main garage for repairs and he does
me my MOT He removed and cleaned the DPF
(diesel particulate filter) Then next back to him for a engine
management software upgrade Again back to him to fit a new temperature sensor
Again back to him to replace the temperature sensor ( we thought it was faulty
) And still got same fault recurring So I decided to take the car for a remap
This is where they remove the inside of the DPF and remap the engine management
system So it does not read the fault

The second garage I took it to for the remap said why
don’t you replace the other sensor as they are two on the intake to the DPF So
we did that Same fault a cured So garage number three

This garage was a Bosch auto electrician That's when he
found the frayed wire shorting out

So from around February to August I have been pulling my
hair out Trying to sort my car out nightmare But now the car is running ok now
More confidence in it now.

the main outer core cable is left like that by the manufactures (ford)
so over a period of time with engine movement and vibration the outer core moved around exposing the inner cables.
bearing in mind it was on a bend behind the lower part of the engine
not very secure
so the inner cable started chaffing against the engine mount in the picture
until it got to the wire core
hence shorting out
the inner core cable it was shorting was the high temperature feed from the DPF sensor
my advice is if you have an engine malfunction code on you display and its out of warranty
get it to a
Bosch vehicle diagnostic center
this is the one i used in Stockport Cheshire

http://ves.boschauto.co.uk/

£45.00 per hour and problem solved

if you have to use a main ford dealer just bear in mined what they charge
there where one or two main dealers at the above garage using there service
charging twice the price to the customer
thanks
David

Is it ok taking the DPF out?, there the only reason I don't buy diesel as I only work 5 miles away from home,

In February this year they made it an MOT failure, however the test only includes a visual inspection of the DPF, therefore as long as the DPF appears to be fitted it will still pass.

Our method like many others is to remove the internal core leaving the outer casing in place so that the vehicle appears unmodified.

So in short no problems with Dpf removal! You will also benefit from better performance and fuel efficiency.

So I do 5-7k miles a year hence why I run a 2.0 petrol , I'd love a 2.0/2.2 diesel for the economy if it could be run as reliable as a petrol by taking out the DPF.

Yep no reason why not, be worth deleting the EGR at the same time.

Dpf and EGR seem to be the 2 big problems with diesel vehicles these days.
