Is the module just behind the glove box?

cheers i found it,there is an empty socket but i cant see in ti see if it is a mini usb connection.I think i will have to remove the module to see

I'm pretty sure if you have the whole it will be for a mini USB, from what I have seen of the modules if it has a 2nd socket next to the main connector it will be for USB. I would also check the software version of your stereo to make sure it can do USB. It should start with 05. Could be the module has the support but not the right software version on the stereo. Do this by pressing #1 & #6 on the stereo and it will come up. If its 04 it will never accept usb

Update the module firmware too from the ford connectivity website. Double check your module has a part number of AM or higher. If it doesn't work straight away might be worth checking elm config and making sure BVC high is enabled in the voice control module parameters, there are about 5 different settings in there.

Yeah that's it and that module won't do it. So you will need a newer module.
