ClarkeLad
how do i know if my car is prewired?
salsheikh
remove the plastic trim either side and see if you can see any wiring looms tied somewhere. it should be a 2 pin plug. you may wanna remove the wheel arch liner for better access/visibility
ClarkeLad
hello, yes i took out the lights and had a look, ill attach some pictures, as im not sure if this connector is for the fogs..
jeebowhite
Are there any "loose" wires taped up behind the bumper area? it should be attached to the frame if you have them.
ClarkeLad
Ill have another look tonight after work.. Are the wires in my pictures definitely not for the fogs? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Ford OC mobile app
jeebowhite
They could be, but that tends to be how most the engine wiring is moved around the bay.

ClarkeLad
Ordered fog lights today and will be arriving on Friday. Anybody any experience fitting? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Ford OC mobile app
jeebowhite
Not personally, but if you remove the blanking plate from the recesses, then you should just slide and clip into place the new fog lights. I dont believe you would need any additional brackets.
ClarkeLad
got them today went to fit and they didnt come with bulbs!
JW1982
Did your car already have the front fog light wiring? My experience is that many Focus MK2/MK2.5 versions without the front fog lights do not have the wiring (or part of the wiring). If the connectors in the engine bay are present it does not nescessarily mean that all of the fog light wiring is present. Ford offers a retrofit kit for MK2.5 versions without front fog lights. This kit costs approximately €175,- and which is a bit cheaper than buying all seperate parts of this kit. The kit contains all needed parts to install the front fog lights on a car without them. This kit contains the following parts: * Fog lights. * Fog lights surround trim. * Light switch with front fog light function. * Mounting hardware. * Light bulbs. For cars without the wiring Ford also offers a retrofit wiring loom which costs approximately €60,-.

ClarkeLad
But there is no connection at then end of it to plug into the h11? Take a look at the PM I sent you with more images.. JW1982
If the connectors do not fit on the H8/H11 bulbs they are probably not for the fog lights. As far as I can see these connectors could well be for adaptive headlights. On cars without adaptive headlights the connectors for adaptive headlights are most times present and taped to the wiring loom.
Realiks
The connector in the picture has a protective plastic cover. Just push the clip on the side and it should just slide of. Today I've also fitted fog lights on my focus mk2.5. Same wiring as shown in your picture. I've connected everything but they are not working :( Did you order the kit from a ford dealer? I think mine have bulbs but if not that would explain why they don't work :). Did they work for you first try? Mine are branded "Valeo" Did you already fit them? Do they work? ClarkeLad
Yes ive got it from a ford dealer, didnt come with bulbs, I ordered the bulbs today so will let you know. Did you connect the new switch? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Ford OC mobile app
Realiks
Yes, I've connected the new switch and the LED on my dashboard is showing, so I think everything is OK there. I will check the bulbs tomorrow, maybe they broke during transport.. Will post an update here when I find out the problem.
ClarkeLad
Did you dissconect the battery earth when fitting? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Ford OC mobile app
Realiks
Yes I did. I've also checked the fuse which seems fine. The rear fog light does work.
ClarkeLad
That was my next question, the fuse. Unless there is a bodywork computer which needs programed? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Ford OC mobile app
Realiks
According to the ford dealer it's plug and play. I hope I'm not missing any wiring, the connectors did fit perfectly. I also purchased the wiring loom because I was misled by the plastic covers on the fog light connectors. I tough they were sensors until I compared them. :)
ClarkeLad
Well its a good job you mentioned that tje wires had covers as I was going to buy the loom on monday I will probably be fitting them next weekend. How did you remove the battery earth? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Ford OC mobile app
Realiks
I was fitting the loom and wanted to connect the loom inside the interior when I found Pin 19 of the connector was already used. Then I realized => God Dammit! I've just wasted 2 hours of work and 50€... Removed the loom and used the connectors that were taped against the bumper. I just hope I get them to work. The battery earth can be removed by removing the protective battery cover (just pull, no screws) and unbolt the negative side of the battery. Make sure that you write down your radio code! ClarkeLad
i slid the cover off the wire there now, there is a white connector underneath does it connect directly into the bulb?
