Jonny87
I've never modded a lightbulb before, so please excuse this question: If you have changed the indicators to clear bulbs how do they still flash orange? Appologies for asking a silly question...

Could you tell me if I wanted to Change all 6 bulbs to Silver would I need.. 4 x 581 PY21W (Front & Rear Indicators) 2 x 501 WY5W (Side Indicators) Hi Franko, Right to change the rear indicator bulbs this is what I did and yes it's a bit fiddly. I couldn't really find an easy way to remove the side carpeting in the boot to gain access, so what I did was to pull away a bit of the carpet from the area where it meets the boot's rubber seal and managed to get my hand through the gap. Feel around the rear of the light area and try and locate the wing nut. Try to unscrew the wing nut, it will be very awkward and tight for a start but perserverence should see it free off. Don't drop the wing nut once free. Then I undid the 2 screws that hold the lights in and the light unit should remove quite easily. There are 2 locating pins between the light and the rear of the car that should release quite easily when pulling gently away from the car. Hope this helps. ;) Yes I'm intending doing the front and side indicators, might actually do the fronts later on today. Your bulbs question looks correct, I bought Philips Silvervision PY21W ones (offset pins) as I'm sure these show brighter than the Silvatec ones when lit. Cheers, Stephen. Thanks Stephen, For the Useful Information & Instructions.. Have ordered the bulbs from Autobulbs Direct. Think I might change the Side indicators first.. (as they look like the easiest to replace). Then hopefully I might have plucked up Enough Courage to change the Rear & Front bulbs. :( Always good to know other people have successfully modified their New Car by only using the basic instructions supplied in the Owners Handbook. Good Luck with changing the other bulbs.. Any photos or advice would be much appreciated. Please let us know How You Get On..
rocky1722
Done the front headlights as well now. Detango'd front indicator bulbs with Philips Silvervision PY21W Offset pin bulbs. Before After Philips Bluevision W5W sidelight bulbs fitted. Original bulb on the left and Philips Bluevision fitted on the right. (Quite hard to see the difference on the pics but in real life the Philips ones are definately a whiter light compared to the yellow of the original bulbs) Original bulb Philips Bluevision W5W bulb All done. irononreverse
Did you only have to replace the normal headlights? Are the full beams already white?

irononreverse
Good point! :) The bluelight W5W that are shown here seem to be for the side lights. the other bulbs look a lot different. I found the H4's on here, I don't know if they're for normal beam or full beam lights but they come with a pair of the sidelights free! Lights I tried seeing if they were white but ended up practically blinding myself. I'm not good with not looking into bright lights it seems... I think the main bulbs are H4 and H7 and the side light is a W5W?
DanGull
It seems the W5W bulbs are always supplied with the H4s. The H4s are for the main beams - £15 on eBay including the W5Ws. Bluevisions

Old pic but you can see the big bulb on the side. This is only used for full beam. It's not available on the Studio, I think.
