Oil Around Injectors

the past few days, ive noticed a burning kinda smell coming in through the vents (heater on) so tonight i decided to investigate. to off engine cover to find to my amazement that around the 2 left hand (as you look at the engine) injectors there is oil (not the rocker gasket before this is stated), not much but what is there has crusted on and not leaking whilst running. both injectors are damp (diesel leakage i assume) and both injectors are kicking out fumes, (can clearly feel air coming out). not going bother with codes as can tell whats wrong....

question is, does it need new injectors, or is there a seal or somat inside that has blown... oh and can it be driven like a 4miles a day?

many many thanks in advance.....

I'd say it could be driven but the longer you drive it the more it's going to cost you ate the moment you should get away with just having the copper seal replaced and no reseating needed keep on driving it you risk it carboning up and having to have the head removed to reseat the seals and possible new injectors .so I,d say get it looked at soonest save the cost in the end run

thanks neil for the reply...... tbh i hope i havnt caused any more damage, as i i dont drive like miss daisy, and it has had a tad of hammering whilst in this condition.....

i have a local diesel specialist called dales of midleport and im going to be giving them a ring in the morning.... if its just seals, i might as well get all 4 done, and whilst they are out get a price on cleaning them also.....

just a bit of a bugger because if it is the seals, they are like 7 quid for a set of 4 delphi from eBay...... and i have the injector socket lol

injectors are now done. taken out, tested, re-seated and seals fitted on all four, dtc codes etc removed and diagnostic done, and at last test drove for £180 inc vat...

anyway on bringing the car back and driving it around today it seems like its lost its umff, like its gone back to standard before the mapping etc....

so i tried my torque app to check any codes and it couldnt find my obd.... so i put my steering wheel back into its original place (garage moved it) tried again then it connected, no codes stored..... turned on my lights and they didnt work..... turned ignition off and back on again and turned lights on then they worked....

what have they done?????

Why did they have to remove the steering wheel ? And who did your remap

they didnt remove the steering wheel just adjusted it, so i take it they caught a wire or somat......

midlands re-mapping i think here :- http://www.midlandremaps.co.uk/#!

but if this has gone wrong then, what do i do about my fmi,s/s exhaust and cold air induction? i had a stage 1 before these were done, then had it done on the rolling road with mods

How long ago did you have it remapped if not to long ago I,d chance giving them a ring a just act ignorant that your cars lost its umpth and could they take a look chances are they still have the file and can reinstall it .its possible I assume you had leaky injectors when you had it mapped and know everything is as it should e has thrown everything out if you know what I mean .

i had the stage 1 map done a few weeks after having the car, once it had it's full service, so i knew it was running smooth.... then the egr went balls up, so that got disabled......this was about 2yrs ago..

last year i had it done on the rollers with mods, as far as im aware the injectors have only been like this for a few weeks, as i blew a seal on one last year doing the fuel filter or that was coincidence......

it had more umpf before i took it in with leaking injectors, than what it has now...... i swear its back to standard power..... it feels heavy and sluggish, but still runs fine..... to me its just not boosting strong enough, so im wondering if they have messed with somat....

just like my obd and lights not working when i picked it up......

Defo upset something but I can't see why they would have to if all they did was the injectors and move the wheel slightly not ofay with the electrical side of things so can't help sorry .
