Where Does The Hid Module Go?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where the hid module goes?

Also anyone got a front level sensor on offer or the front sensor bottom bracket?

Thanks

back of the lights .

No sensors or brackets I'm afraid, but on the pre-facelift xenons the module screws (3 of them I think) to the underside of the headlight...

No I mean the hid module the black box that tells the light to go up and down etc.

Yh the module itself not the ballasts. I have both sensors, hid lights just need to know where the module goes so I can program it.

Do you have the wiring to hand?

Does this limit the distance from the sensors that the module can be placed?

Maybe under the battery tray would be suitable.

If you find out let me know, i have been searching for this exact module myself. The module receives signals from the front and rear sensor and sends signal to the xenon headlamp unit.

If you follow wire coming from the headlamp unit it self brown and green on the RIGHT side headlamp this goes directly to the module. From the LEFT headlamp the same wire going to the module directly is brown and blue. From the front sensor wiring there is 3 wires going to the module, white/blue, yellow/blue, brown/blue.

Not yet had a chance to trace it myself but let me know how ya get on

For anyone interested in the control unit I'll reproduce part of the image I provided to Kurt recently-

I tried to find it. But I just caknot trace wires or even see the connector. I think I might be a complete dash removal to get to it.

you are aware that some who have fitted these are getting gem module faults guy at ford told me there are 2 different types 1 for cars fitted with hid 1 for those without i believe there was a post on here from someone with that exact issue

It was recently posted by jw. The module is under the steering wheel near drivers foot well

This picture is for RHD vehicles. I suppose on LHD vehicles the module location should be the same. My experience is that in most cases the wiring for the module will be missing. In this case the wiring must be retrofitted also.

Cannot find the wire. So I've given up. Anyone want the stuff. I've got the HID MODULE,

THE REAR SENSOR & WIRING,

FRONT SENSOR. No WIRING.

But what I don't get also is . Why have 10 pins on the headlights to do xenon but no wire behind left panel?

So unless someone can show me where it is actually I just give up.

I also have all the self levelling wording already installed FACTORY

10pin isn't only for self leveling. 10pin is also used for adaptive lighting in this case it may not have xenon wiring but it might have steering sensor for headlights
