hi everyone

i'm new here.

i just change my old mondeo to an old focus. it's a 52 reg, has 130,000 on the clock. just had a full service after i bought it. it is doing 70 mile for a tenner, it's roughly 45mpg. it's my first diessel car, so i am not sure that's about right or on the low side.

cheers

If youre driving it around town then thats about right.

I get 45mpg around town and about 55-60 on A roads.

Motorways are anything from 60-70mpg

Ive done 45 mile journeys 20 miles of it being motorway and done 100mph on the *autobahn* and still returned 58mpg (the other 25 being city)

i'm mainly driving it up down between sunderland and blyth, so it's mainly on A roads

It's not far off, depends how you're driving it,weather it's hilly and stop start from people turning etc.gear changes and the rpm you cruise on obviously effect it.

thanks, i know it's a old car, so thought it may use a little more fuel than average. my friend is telling me to remap it, don't know if it's good for the car
