coyb65
Hi all, My focus has been playing up with an intermittent fault, i have tried many things to cure it but its still there. Basically what happens is the rev counter drops to zero and the car bounces down the road, if i ride the clutch for a bit the bouncing stops but the rev counter stays at zero but after a few seconds it clears itself and may not happen again for quite a while. i have fitted a new coil pack and had all the breather pipes changed but its still doing it. does anyone have any idea what it could be? jeebowhite
Sounds like it could well be a faulty instrument cluster, have you had any other symptoms?
AdeMk1
Could be the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) in the gearbox. Changed a few of them for the same symptoms, but beware the pin you need to remove in the gearbox to get the sensor out is a right pain in the butt. Does it stall if you dip the clutch or stop at junctions etc?
