My experiences say 95% sure it won't fit a mk7 .. Could be wrong though

I had looked at various options , I went to my local Halfords and tried a few ones on in the car park. Lots of fits most models of ford ones but none fit my mk7.. .. But you could make it fit if - you really wanted to...,

In the end I went for a ford one

before I took the whole thing out and put in a mountune one in .., post-27159-0-84503400-1394199541_thumb.j

Have you looked into a short shift stick? someone on here put one in, don't think it was that expensive for what you get, it looked the dogs as well.

Don't see why not, there all a pretty standard size especially the richbrook ones. Wouldn't bother with a short shifter though, £119 for a 15% less shift! not worth it in my eyes

unscrewing your gear knob off and popping on a universal one on with Allen grub screws is not too good IMO from a safety point of view ... I remember doing that on my last car and having to carry around an Allen key in the glove compartment so I could pull over and tighten it up every so often ... Went back to the standard one a month later - looks awesome though ;)

Came today and fitted dead simple...

Remove surrounding trim

Unscrew knob

Unclip retaining collar

Screw on new Knob

Replace trim

Still need to tidy gaiter where it meets knob but looks 100% better already

Very pleased with it
