adz83
Hi, the reversing lamp on my mk 2 focus 1.6 has stopped working. I've tried replacing the bulb but this hasn't fixed it so i assume the switch must be faulty. Were abouts is the switch located on the gearbox, how hard is it to get to as the battery and airbox etc sit above the gearbox? Any help would be great. Thanks Adam. Rick984
Try changing the bulb holder itself?
adz83
No, are they common to fail? The odd thing is that the rear wiper still comes on when you select reverse with the windscreen wipers on...
Stoney871
Not the switch then. Check the bulb holder for corrosion and the wiring is intact.
adz83
ok thanks, should be an easier job than getting to the reverse sensor i guess.
Stoney871
I'd recommend seperating the two parts of the holder and checking all contacts. (The bulb holder unclips from the wiring plug easily). If the holder is corroded then you can find replacement ones on eBay.

The cars going in for an MOT on Friday so maybe i'l just let them figure it out :P
