Invisible Man
Hi, Does anyone know of a way I can stop the Air Conditioning kicking into life when I put the heaters on in my car? I think the A/c is in need of some attention as when it turns on you can hear a very loud noise that sounds like dodgy bearings (Does the Air Con system have any bearings?) I thought about removing a fuse, but when I looked at the fuses there are quite a few that relate to the A/C/heating System. alexp999
Make sure the blowers are not pointing at the windscreen, this enables the A/C automatically.
Invisible Man
That makes sense. I always point them at the windscreen when I turn the car off so I dont get a freezing blast of cold air to the face when I start it up. BigD
The noise is probably just the standard noise from the A/C compressor. They aren't the quietest devices on the planet. Make sure to run the A/C at least once every couple of weeks, even in winter. The a/c coolant contains lubricant and if you don't run it for a period of time, the seals will dry out and the a/c system will leak. Just watch this forum when the first hot weather arrives - I guarantee at least a couple of posts a week asking why the A/C is no longer working. This is why. Invisible Man
Is there a noticable difference with the Ford A/c units compared to other manufacturers? I had a Vauxhall prior to this and you couldn't really hear it. I'll make sure I run it every now and again to keep it happy.
