Does anybody know if its safe to have a dented alloy repaired?? iv heard it can be dodgy due to the ammount of heat required to do it?? HELP!!

Hi Wes,

Depends on the quality of the job, but the frame can be reshaped, but it can be more susceptible in the future to more damage.

I'm gunna just try and repair it with a bit of wood and a hammer ;)

Gotta be worth a shot, at the moment if its worth nothing more than chucking, then whats the harm!

I enquired and was told it needed to be heated and reshaped. I'm guessing then a new coat of paint is in order so a new wheel looks like a better option. Or smack it with a hammer ;)

I've knocked them out straight with a bit of wood and hammer.

Old skool repairs.

To be fair though, a new wheel will be better as that will always be a weaker spot than any other on the wheel.
