biotech326 Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 Hey All, I've read in the car manual but didn't see any relevant information there. Often enough, When I enter my car I have steams on the front windshield. So I put on the defrost mode but the truth is I don't understand if I should put on cold or hot? or any other configuration. It takes several minutes until I can even start driving. The steams are not disappearing as fast as as I want. Would love to hear your feedback and what you suggest to do in order to maximize the front windshield steam defrost procedure. alexp999 Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 If you mean condensation on the inside, then set it to hot. If you have quickclear windscreen that will help clear it quicker. alexandjen Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 If you haven't got a quick clear windscreen then temperature set to max, recirc on to help warm up speed, fan to max and as said above - air con will de-humidify the air so should help it to clear much faster. If you suffer with bad condensation on the screen then I'd take a look under your floor mats to see if you have water lying in there and check your door seals/rubbers are intact. For maximum demisting turn on A/C (if you have it), set vents to blow at the windscreen, max heat and max fan speed until the windscreen clears. If the windows are misting up too then direct some air to those as well. I forget whether recirculate air helps, or that might be just for cooling the air quicker with A/C. Correct me if I'm wrong. In the manual it says for demisting: max blower, max temperature, A/C, direct air to windscreen. Doesn't say to use recirculate. Nighthawk Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 If you use direct the air con will be fighting a never win battle to remove moisture from outside but recirculate it only has the air inside the car to do, and multiple times as it gets recirculated. I'm a bit confused so that's what I've understand ... correct me if I'm wrong: Max fan speed, max heat (as hot as possible) put the status on the windsheild blow (obviously). and not setting the air to be recycled inside the car ... meaning have fresh air from outside all the time.
