New Titanium On Order - How To Fill 6 Weeks?

Featured Replies

Ordered my new Titanium 1.5 TDCi 5 Door in Deep Impact Blue + extras (really wanted the leather seats but couldn't justify the extra for that extravagance) on 4th April. Got the call this week that estimated build date is 28th April, with delivery 3-4 weeks after that.

As I said elsewhere on here today, I've been really struggling to find decent photos of cars in this colour. Mainly, it seems, because the colour seems to shift so much between light and dark depending on the lighting angle. So much so even photos of the same car seem to look different as the owner moves around it. The ones I have seen it looks nice, so hopefully I chose right.

Anyhoo, the problem now is how do I fill 6 weeks of wait time without going nuts? Ideas and suggestions cos I'm already impatient! :)

I've had the same lack of "useful communication" and on the whole I'm disappointed with my customer experience this time. Was even told a message had been left for me on my mobile voicemail. Good tric

Buy things ready for the arrival to keep you busy :) check out some projects of the new zs for ideas etc. It'll be here before you know it then.

I know 6 weeks isn't long by some standards but it sounds such a long time ;)

Where are these projects you mention?

Not sure I've much left to buy.

Might be a daft question but are the boot spaces the same in the facelift models as the previous ones? I've got a bootliner in mine at the minute and I'm hoping it'll fit.

Hahaa I know, it'll soon be collection time :)

As you would be :)

I was flipping between the DIB and Candy Blue but went for DIB in the end

I'm biased to candy blue so no comment ;) Hahaa

I'd added that much with extras, the extra for the pearlescent was just a bit too far. Plus She Who Must Be Obeyed said she preferred the darker one. And sometimes you go with the flow :D

While I think about it, I'm not greatly into modding - I'd break something - but I'm not sure about the red ambient light with blue dash lighting. I know there's a few threads around but just to make it easier for me (I'm terminally lazy, ask the wife) what bulbs, and what supplier, are best for changing them from red to blue? Not 100% decided I'll go that route yet but it is the one thing that brought a frown to my brow about the car.

The other mod I'd consider is de-tango but I've had my current Fiesta for a couple of years and to be honest it's not something that's kept me awake at night :)

Would now be a good time to read"War & Peace". That should fill in 6 weeks.

Seriously I am down to 9 days to wait and the clock seems to have nearly stopped it is going so slow. Hang in there.

Oh don't tell me time slows down even more :(

I think it's the production time that's killing me. Last time this one was sitting waiting to be ferried over, so 3 - 4 weeks was all I had to wait. Knowing that the thing isn't built yet and anything can happen to delay it is bad for my nerves :)

Hang in their, the time will fly.

You know the universe hates you when.......

.....I come in from work to find a letter from the local Ford dealer - the same one I ordered my new Titanium from 4 weeks ago - telling me I'm one of 25 lucky people invited to buy a new Ford for cost + £1. Please contact the Sales Manager - the same one I saw 4 weeks ago - to claim this special deal. Arrggghhhhhh.:rolleyes:

Personally I'd be spending the 6 weeks wondering if I should have paid the extra 1K for an ST, but that's just me and that's what I did for the few months of ownership I had of my Zetec Ecoboost.

  • Author

Not really. Didn't want an ST. It's why they do different models - choice

Indeed, I made the wrong choice personally, it's why I got one in the end and took the hit, always had the urge to go faster.

That's it, if everybody wanted the same thing the world would be a boring place.

I'm in the process of working out wether to go for a kuga titanium or a fully loaded focus!

Not bothered about the speed. Left all that behind years back. Did my fair share. Now I'm more interested in keeping the running costs down - including that evil insurance.

II have had my Titanium 1.5 TDCi in Deep Impact Blue for 3 weeks now! I got the Full Leather and City Pack and full size spare as it was Dealer stock. I Love it, as Im sure you will. It looks the business and certainly gets heads turning as you drive past!

The 6 weeks will fly by for you! Enjoy it when you get it! :) :) :) :) :) :)

  • Author

Don't think I'm getting a full size spare, but if one will fit I can always pick one up later. City Pack, heated seats, keyless entry/start stop, 17" 8 spoke alloys but no leather. Considered it but decided against.

Just need to contact them now about that letter I got yesterday about buying a new Ford at cost + £1. I got a decent discount but I don't think that good.

Mine needs a wash as I did a long drive the other day, but once done will get a pic up!

I still haven't seen one out in the wild. Or a photo that doesn't seem to change colour depending on angle.

Here's my ZS in deep impacy blue

You are right it does appear different depending on the lighting

Lovely flake pop when the sun hits it... :)
