Got these from my mot,I planned on redoing the bushes anyway.

Is there a specific company that sells these that's rated on here or is eBay the best bet.are polyurethane better or not worth it ?

As I understand it, the polyurethane bushings are harder/stiffer. Better for "performance", but not as good for comfort. Rally drivers use poly bushes. I don't know about "better"... they might last longer, but it depends what you want - faster cornering, or comfortable driving.

Actually, a quick look at a website tells me that they can now make them in a range of hardnesses and stiffnesses.

It was mentioned in my last service that the 'anti roll bar linkage has slight play in ball joint'. Is this something i should be majorly worried about? costly to fix? My car is going in for a service this thursday, wondering if i should ask them to sort the linkage?

Mine pulls on the same side he told me the rear roll bar had gone so It might be that making it pull.if not it needs tracking done

Slight play wouldn't worry me,the person who does my mot at is a relative so I trust what he tells me,in a service they'll tell you anything to get money from you

This is what I don't understand... why would you let a private company MOT all cars? They're bound to try and rip people off. Where I live, all MOTs are done by the DVLNI, so there's no corruption. You simply either pass or fail. You just pay the £30 admin fee for the test, and I think it's only £18 for a re-test.

rear bushes on the ford always come up usually around the 3-4 yr old mark poly bushes wont help much in some cases they make the rear too stiff theyre fine on the front there are many sellers on ebay that do them but you can also buy a kit

Yeah the arms are fine just need the bushes and it says something about a ball joint too

replacing the bushes is almost impossible most will not go in without destroying the arm or bending it leading to handling issues i would always replace the whole arm rather than the bush and given you need to remove half the rear arms to do any 1 job it makes sense to replace the lot in one go ford dont do balljoints they replace the whole arm in one go again as the bush is usually not far behind

Well 160 is too steep IMO for that item.why do they sell the bushes if you can't fit them on,that makes no sense to me

you can but its difficult to do you need to be carefull when pushing the bush in you dont bend the arm in anyway if youre confident febi ones from ebay aroud £26 are good quality as i said be very carefull not to bend the arm

since theres no excessive movement you may get another year out of them so its not an immediate issue ive seen my mk1 get that and i didnt need to replace till its 3rd mot after so you have time but it is best when you do them to replace the lot with a kit

Yeah ,the bushes can wait if thy have to on the other parts of the car,I wanted to sort the rear bull joint bit out though so I can have the trCking done and stop the pulling as it's very annoying.
