leo7886
Hi everyone! Always on the look out for old fords round my way and I've found two fiestas! Investment: xr2i, 1990 H reg, needs tidying up a little. No MOT, which will be about 200 quid to get through. Owner is looking for £950! Anyone think this is a bit steep or about right as they're getting rarer. Photo below. Mk2 fiesta, 1988 E reg, sorn, but has got 5 months MOT. Needs tidying, anyone think its worth tidying up and selling on, as it seems these are even going up in value. Owner has got it up for £450. Good price? May possibly sell nearer to a grand? Thoughts please.... Photo below
The Admiral
Hi Leo, If you're for an investment go for the RS Fiesta, The XR2i looks ok, abit of TLC and a good valeters , I'd offer £600-£700 but no more if it's FSH / 2+ Keys etc.. leo7886
Thanks admiral! Will adhere to your advice, yes there is a dent on the bonnet and bumper has a crack in it. Have found a even better one in Romford for £1,300, lower miles at 43k, will put on 12 months MOT for that price to. Looks great, tho red, only fault without looking at it, is a dented passenger door. Will walk away from the grey one, if he doesn't come down enough. Grey one is near my area, tho Romford isn't, need to check my bank balance! Lol.
MattDRX
They are both cheap, but the XR2 is a better bet, was a rarer car. If you put some love into it it'll appreciate nicely. But as said above get an Rs Turbo. Nice ones sell for about 5k+ and shitters van be bought for around 1.5k. Any Ford with RS in the title is a solid investment. Even more so if you get the right colour. White fiestas with green bumper inserts are the most desirable. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Ford OC mobile app Genuine NOS mk3 fiesta doors are expensive, about £80 then needs paint. Should imagine a 3 dr version would be even more. Definitely repair if you can. MattDRX
£80 for a door is cheap. Call VW and ask how much one is for a golf. Or a breakers for a Renault door. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Ford OC mobile app
leo7886
Would absolutely love an rs turbo!! Preference to the s2 escort tho. If money was no object I'd have them all Would rather have an xr2, as said there rarer and more desirable. But my bank balance will only allow for a good deal on a 2i. Even then I need to spend some money on my xr3! Where's that lotto win?! Lol
