What is this "secret dash trick" I have just been informed about? It is with regard to reading OBD codes.

    hold the trip computer button in for a few seconds and turn on the ignition while still holding in the trip computer button.

    it should then enter the secret menu and you press the trip computer button to cycle through the options. eventually it will say whether there are any dtc codes

    Its good, but its not a full diagnostics, often errors can appear there from the main ECU (such as the likes of battery voltages, and other main systems) however, such faults as those with seperate modules (ABS, Airbag, etc) will not show on there.

    I do have on OBD scanner which works very well. Where is the OBD port on my Focus?

    Its located to the right hand side of your steering wheel. Theres a little sort of pocket in the dashboard below your light switches. Port is facing down from the roof of the pocket.
