We always had a breakage kit to hand, basically a pair of rubber gloves, a plastic bag and a activated charcoal face mask for the tritium gas.

Another problem with a susat is limited peripheral vision which can be dangerous in close formation live firing.

(Sorry all, I'm a weapon buff and ex-firearms officer).

Yeah cadets were really strict with firing both live and blank. We only ever fired live on a range and each cadet had their own adult instructor for safety and guidance and with blank firing only in the prone position and kneeling when at a senior level again with most cadets having individual instructors

I coached a few cadets to bisley and used to really enjoy it.

Moved away from cadets a couple of years back but intend to go back soon.

Miss the fun & games.

Well I flipped with the adults as they told us to get the basic cadets ready for going onto the field by 1 which we did and turned out the had the Times wrong and didn't actually know what time to be ready and left the cadets hanging and getting bored which I'm sure u have found out is a bad thing to do

Idle hands and all that ;)

Usually results in weapons stripped down further than for normal daily cleaning.

I always carried a bag full of spare firing pin retaining pins and cam studs.

Also surprising how hard it is to remove cleaning cloth of the wrong dimensions from a barrel when the wrong loop is used on a pull through.

Happy days indeed :p

Well she gets jumped on and wrestled by the little one regularly and has never hurt her so she's alright :p

I do think she's ugly though lol her bottom teeth stick out and she always has one floppy ear. Her dad's an affenpinscher which explains everything!

I want a big cuddly dog like a German shepherd or something tbh

haha, I have to say the overwhelming verdict here is that most of us dont look a thing as how we present ourselves on the forum :D I have to say I think Lenny looks quite similar to how I expected him, but Clive surprises me, I must say I imagined you to be a bit more "folically challenged" and before you want to ceak me in the goochies, I base that on the picture I saw of you last time around where you were out with the pooch having a sniff around the van (I believe it was the picture that ended up in the local rag?) and for some reason since then I just couldnt imagine you with hair :p

I notice though a lot more of us seem to have stubble than tash or clean shaven!

My hair varies from stubble to scruffy depending in the seasons.

It'll be down to a grade two next week. :)
