ok my car doesnt smell!!!! lol!

can someone tell me what the smelly stuff is that ford use when you buy the car????

when i bought my focus it was freshly validated and had a lovely smell inside that lasted for a about 2 months gice or take. Now i cant find an air freshner or car scent to match that or last as long.

does any one know that scent it is and where to get it?

also what car scents do you use and best place to get from?

thanks

Hmmm this is interesting I remember older Fords holding their scent well, could deff notice it, if you blind folded me and put be in a few of these older fords ie Orion's... and non fords I'd be able to tell you if I was in the ford or not (as long as it wasnt like an ashtrey inside etc..)

I think the smell comes from the dash / plastics used in the interior and owners get use to it sot they don't notice it as much...

is there any dash polish or any scent that can give off the same type of smell?

whats the best stuff to use for cleaning dash and interior parts, Autoglym products?

Thanks

I prefer to use the magic trees - vanilla

my local car wash gives a free new car small magic tree with every wash which is nice too

Yea I agree Autogylm is good so is Armour All.....

only other thing is to look for some old fashioned vinal gel, it has a natural 'new smell' not sure if it will have uv blocks to stop sunlight damaging you dash....

A "new car" smell is from the solvents etc and various different smells

Pro valeters use all sorts of products on different surfaces that can take ages for the smell(s) to go away, they also have "new car smell" perfume! - you can find out what they use and can sometimes even buy the products direct

Magic trees etc can not really emulate a full pro valet - just not the same

magic trees scent doesn't last long either i find. I will try a few of the above recommendations to see what happens.
