Eac Fail.

Featured Replies

Hi there guys. my brother has a ford fiesta 1.4 duratec 2004 model.

He is currently having problems with his car. The car is juddering and losing power. EAC FAIL is also showing on the digital display on the clocks.

If he stops and turns engine off then back on again the problem goes away for a short while. However it is getting worse and worse.

He does alot of mileage so needs his car working.

I have been checking the internet and alot of people say it is something to do with the signal from the accelerator pedal to the throttle body. It also says it can cost 100's of pounds to fix. Other people say it could be just a case of cleaning the connectors.

I am quite able to do the jobs myself, so any tips would be great.

Is anyone able to help me on this.

many thanks

Mine is doing the same, not as bad as what you describe but apparently its the throttle body that needs changing which from ford can be £300+,

It might be best to get a diagnostic test on it to see what codes come up

I had one done on mine and it came back with 2 codes P2135 and P2119

I've just had the original throttle body cleaned so going to see how it gets on

Hi many thanks for reply. I have now had a diognostic test done. The code iv been given is p2135. Throttle pressure sensor.

I want to take map sensor off. Anyone know how to remove connector on Map sensor. I'm struggling. Also what's the best cleaner to use for these sensors.

Many thanks.
