Yeah Lenny, one place quoted £300 .... i have to phone another place over in Darlington...who quoted me £99-199 in an email, made from T304,and they do it in house,to what ever spec.

I e-mail them back asking why so cheap .... reply was it's a ford focus.....one straight pipe,2 bends and another little straight...how simple can you get.

So my plan tomorow is to phone them and arrange to pop over and discuss exhaust.

  • mines remapped and dpf removed- but interesting that you manually removed dpf from the system -and not remapped yet but able to reset light - wonder how long before it comes on again? keep us posted p

  • he's talking rubbish pal -the dpf is purely a visual check -that sensor is nothing to do the check at all. ..believe what you choose- but trust me that method you have advised is the half assed method

  • who's doing the reamp? you have several companies around your area that will do the job properly- as i was going to travel up that way to get mine but found a tuner that offered to do it as advised. m

Yeah Lenny a free flow muffler ...... so all good.

Not read through the whole thread but why would anyone put diesel in the additive tank? As I understand it the additive is sprayed into the DPF to increase the tempreture to allow regeneration of the DPF. This is exactly the same way adblue in trucks works to reduce emissions. There would be no point in putting diesel on the additive tank, all that would do is spray diesel in and it would not have been burnt and would cause smoke albeit small amounts occasionally. Unless I am missing something. Surely when it is remapped they stop it from injecting any fluid as it is no longer needed.
