Bleeding Brakes Mk7?

Featured Replies

Hi all, doing some servicing on my mk7 fiesta this week including new pads and discs. Looking to bleed my brakes for 1st time! Can't find any info on what order to bleed them? Will it be rear passenger, rear driver, front passenger front driver? And does engine need to be on I know some abs cars need this?

Any help appreciated this info seems hard to find!!!

Cheers, mike

Yes your sequence is correct - I didn't have the engine running when I changed my brake fluid a couple of weeks ago and they seem fine

Engine off.

Rear passenger, then front drivers.

Rear drivers, then front passenger.

Keep brake fluid reservoir topped up.

Get a mate to help or a self bleed kit.

my manual states furthest from the master cylinder first then work your way towards it, so:

rear passenger

rear driver

front passenger

front driver

I would always start with the furthest away and work your way towards it, unless the manufacturer states otherwise.
