Connector Question??

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what this connector is? It's a connector that goes by the passenger door next to the door connector.

I see a number on the third picture but can't make it out clearly.

If you give me the number I may be able to confirm what it is.

On wiring diagram it says this 3M5T-14A459-DRD C111 TO 14401 HARNESS 14K733 31-LE45

If it help the starter cable for the ignition goes to it.

Another question? Does the ignition barrel connections go to the gem or straight to the engine from this connector?

It will do both. Signals from gem and ignition power comes off a buzz bar.

I would imagine that connector is to join up internal wiring loom for the rear

It does indeed appear to be a generic main loom connector.

All references on Microcat concur.

So that connector would be connecting thing from the engine bay not just the green connector. The blue connectors all just say cockpit, the green I'd what says front. Reason I'm asking I'd my starter motor is not getting a signal to start. I've been told its the viper alarm but the wiring is such a mess it's like the guy just shoved everything in.

And my dash is doing nothing. When u are in ignition it just sits there no dials move at all.

Fixed the starting issue but a ran a new wire from key to starter relay. So I know there is a issue with these 2 points. So any suggestions will help. Or if someone knows a better way of getting car to start? Abs and airbag light on. Abs is ok so I just need it reset airbag comes up with b2227 code which is communication error to driver crash sensor.

The starting issue makes sense now. RS is push start that would mean no need for certain wiring?

But the grey/black wire is still used on a lux pack 1

I don't a complete side by side check of the wiring loom before I put it in. Everything was the same except I had a connector for the st pods but that's it. Everything work except no signal to starter from the ignition switch to starter relay. So it's eithier the viper alarm system or something else.

Signal from the starter does not come from the key in the ignition on the rs loom though it comes from the button

So the starter cable grey/black goes to button then to the rest of the car. So basically if I get a centre console off a facelife with start button wire it up. It should work with key in ignition barrel? If that's true in wrapping the centre console sued and then putting it in. Want colours to match? But is that what your saying?

In theory that sounds okay but push start also has electronic immobiliser might be different.

Tbh it should work with key in the ignition the button would just be a starter signal located else where, so yes

So I should get the button with loom connect it up and use key to disable the imbiliser and activate ignition . Then to start press the button? But the wiring diagram shows nothing of a button.

Cars with Keyless start have a Keyless Vehicle module. This module controls te keyless entry, keyless start and PATS functions. It is not possible to install only the start button. It is also necessary to install the Keyless Vehicle Module and all missing wiring.

A wiring loom from a Keyless start Vehicle will most likely be different from the wiring loom of a conventional started Focus Mk2/MK2.5. To find the differences You have to comparere every single wire of both wiring looms.

Prob is before I put the loom in the wires are both the same except the hid module connector, and st pods

  • Author

It starts if you connect a wire from starter relay to key starter wire. So it's eithier the wiring or the alarm.

I was thinking of connecting the start button like those ebay types push start button where you insert the key to disarm the immobiliser and switch on the ignition then press to start. I think this disable the use of the key for starting

Trying to retrofit the actual keyless system would be extreme modules and electronic immobiliser would be complex to understand

True. But it be a bit crazy to have a button to start when u need key. I would just stick with the wire I put in. Or I'm gonna spend the night reading up on the wiring diagrams and the loom I've take out the car to find where the wire goes to etc. I give you an update how I get on. I'm gonna get car not sorted tomorrow so I get the electrics checked.
