Painting Front Grill

Featured Replies

I want to paint my front grills and fog light outer housings black on my fiesta as the are currently grey. That is the best way to do this?

PS do you like my DMB Graphics badge ;)

Loving the dmbs mate.

Take the grills off give them a good clean and let dry properly.

If there us any spec of water left it will ruin the end product.

Some people rub down first. I never have and have never had any problems.

I do 3 coats of primer 3 coats of gloss black and 3 of laquer.

Just allow yourself plenty of drying time.

Would be handy if you can start one morning and finish next day.

Remember the longer you spend getting the prep right the better the end product.

How long would you leave to dry between coats?

Check the tins of spray paint. I think it's 30 mins.

Just build the coats up slowly and take your time.

And make sure you use plastic primer too.

Yes I forgot to mention that.

It will peel off if not.
